Grass on the grade school playground was the medium for Louanne’s first jewelry creations
of bracelets when she was a little girl and already taking private painting classes.
Her original love of the beauty found in nature, especially small things, permeates
her work today. The texture of the seaweed and shells remaining on the sand when
the tide goes out. The subtle but rich color of a mineral embedded in a rock . All
these inspire Louanne’s compositions. She uses minerals, fossils, carvings and semi-precious
stones as the focal point in her original and unusual necklaces. Intricate beadwork
embellishes and enhances the focal object, always retaining the integrity of the
entire piece. After four years as an Art major in college and more years as a professional
portrait painter, Louanne rediscovered her passion for jewelry when her sister-in-law
took her to a bead show twenty years ago. She has been expressing her art in bead-weaving
since then. Her imaginative powers, inclinations and artistic skill combine to make
her work innovative, an extension of nature in both its delicacy and strength. From
grade-school maker of grass bracelets to unusual bead-work necklaces that are worn
all over the country and even internationally, Louanne has established herself as
an extraordinary artist of the spirit and the earth.
Each fine art creation is a unique design, a one of a kind original.
